My Easter in New York State took me to a few hours in Ithaca visiting Cornell and grabbing some lunch.
And let me tell you about this lunch!
We stopped at a local eatery called LUNA that serves inspired street food from different spots around the world. After pinning over the menu trying to figure out what to eat I settled on the Sticky Pineapple Chicken Bowl.
This dish is served with jasmine rice, sweet and spicy sauce, chicken, Thai chili peppers, sesame seeds, scallions and… wait for it…
is served inside HALF A PINEAPPLE!
The chicken reminded me a bit of orange chicken and was really crispy, and went extremely well with the jasmine rice. I was a bit worried how this all would pair together with the pineapple, but it was delicious. The sweetness of the pineapple balanced out the spice from the Thai chilies, and the coolness of it compared to the rest of the hot food made it incredibly refreshing.
My only complaint was it was a bit hard to eat since the pineapple was difficult to cut with a plastic knife. Other than that everything about this meal was stupendous. I finished the entire thing and wished I had more.
This eatery has a great array of special cuisines and even has a menu to cater to vegetarians, vegans, and gluten-free options. Now I wish there was one right by my school so I can go try everything off their menu!
